Web material deviation correction
The high-speed, high-precision, and highly efficient automated processing of coil materials places increasingly stringent demands on the control of their lateral positioning. Equipping the system with a high-performance automatic web‑centering mechanism is key to boosting production capacity and improving yield. During unwinding, intermediate handling, and rewinding, coils inevitably experience lateral displacement (deviation). Therefore, web‑centering systems can be installed at any of these three stages as needed to ensure the coil passes through designated positions with exact accuracy. The web‑centering system is an automated control system comprising a controller, edge‑ or line‑sensing sensors, electric actuators, and a correction mechanism. The sensing elements detect the relative position of the coil's edge, a reference line, or a color mark, converting this information into electrical signals that are sent to the controller. The controller compares these signals with the setpoint, and based on the deviation, it outputs a proportionally adjusted signal to the electric actuator to effect immediate correction.
