Printing South China, Sino-Label, Sino-Pack and China Drinktec 2009 ended with resounding success on 6 March, 2009 at China Import and Export Fair Pazhou Complex, Guangzhou, PR China. Around 800 exhibitors from 17 countries/regions demonstrated nearly a thousand of machines and solutions at printing, labelling, general packaging as well as brewery, beverage, food processing and packaging industrial halls during the 4-day shows. The shows attracted around 40,000 local and overseas visitors, including over 20 delegation groups organized by both local and overseas associations.
Despite the financial tsunami, the 16th Printing South China/Sino-Label 09 attracted a number of renowned suppliers under one roof. For instance, Arjobex America, Avery Dennison, Colamark, Emerson, EPSON, EURA, Hans Gronhi, Huaguang Precision Machinery, Jadason Technology, Le Kai er Jiao, Lintec, Martini, Pantone, RotoMetrics, RYOBI, Shriro, SPPMC, Taiyo, UPM-KYMMENE, Wutung, Zhejiang Zhengrun, etc. made prominent participation there.
Sino-Pack and China Drinktec 2009 received widespread support from numerous renowned exhibitors including the 4-leading laser jet corporations: Domino, Hitachi, Markem-Imaje and Videojet. Other well-known exhibitors included Alpha-Pack, AOKI, ASCO, B&R, Cross Investment, Dahe Packing, Dasesing Packaging, E-Star, Gloria Island, Grundfos Pumps, Gurki, Hangzhou Youngsun, Huangguan, Jinan, Jintan Zhufeng, Jinyi, Kezhen, Lonhon, Mega, Nan Jiang, Nordson, Paceco, Packmate, Precise Light, Ring Pack, Saturn, Shousong, SITI, Soontrue, TCP, TechLong, Vanta, Wutung, Ximing, Xin Zhong, Xutian, Y.C.T.D. Well participated by both local and overseas associations and delegationsThe shows were well supported and participated by many trade associations in China. They actively organized delegation groups to the shows, such as Rotogravure Division of The Printing Technology Association of China, Shenzhen Anti-Counterfeit Association and printing-packaging industry associations from Fujian Province, Henan Province and Guangdong Province. What is more, there were numerous visiting groups from end-user industries organized by Guangdong Dairy Industry Association, Guangdong Provincial Alcohol Industry Association Beer Branch, Bottled Drink Water Association of Guangdong, Food Industry Association Shenzhen, Dongguan Food Association and Guangdong Provincial Association for Standardization, etc.
The shows also received supports from vast overseas industry associations such as Korea Packaging Machinery Association (KPMA), Process and Packaging Machinery Association (PPMA) of the UK and Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI) of the US. Buyer delegations from Vietnam as well as the Republic of Uzbekistan attended the shows either. Despite the current economic downturn, most of the association leaders and overseas buyers expected to grasp market updates and new technology trend through participating in the shows in order to increase their competitiveness. Moreover, the shows were deemed to serve as effective platforms for them to explore business opportunities, in fact, buyers from the delegation groups of Rotogravure Division of The Printing Technology Association of China, Guangdong, Zhongshan, Shantou, Xiamen and Heshan, etc. indicated that they were able to source what they needed in the shows.
Printing South China, Sino-Label, Sino-Pack and China Drinktec 2009 attracted trade visitors from 81 countries/regions. Furthermore, many buyers were decision makers from renowned enterprises of end-user industries, such as Amway, Bright Dairy, HongLi Pharmaceutical, Jack-Jill, Lee Kum Kee, Liby, MeadJason, Meiji, Midea, Panasonic, Pearl River Beers, Pepsico, Philips, P&G, Robust, Strong, Tsing Tao Beers, Wahaha, Wanglaoji, Watsons, Winner Food (Doll) and Yanghetang, etc.
Favored by geographical advantages and strong support from enterprises, the shows reached an excellent track recordAs South China occupies a large market share in printing and packaging industries in China with numerous printing, packaging and end-users enterprises clustered there, the shows, thus, were favored by this geographical advantage and many exhibitors expressed that they were able to meet the print pack corporations during the 4-day shows.
The exhibitor, Shanghai Electric Printing and Packaging Machinery Group (SPPMC) stated that they sold 4 sets of machines on the first day and that is why Mr. Yang, Sales Manager of SPPMC expressed that they were very confident on their business. On the other hand, Mr. Pan Gao Feng, General Manager of Sales Department of JMD Machinery Co. Ltd. remarked that they met many potential buyers in the shows and sold machines on the first day after meeting 5 agencies.
Mr. Ng Ying Yi, Deputy General Manager of Zhejiang Zhengrun Machinery Co., Ltd. said that their exhibit - automatic rigid box maker was the latest product of his company. Mr. Ng pointed out that they focused on the development of leading post-press technologies with major clients from Europe and United States. Affected by the economic downturn, his company has made adjustment to target other new developing countries such as Russia and Brazil, etc.
Mr. Song Shi Yi, General Manager of Jadason Technology Ltd. expressed that the "QPress B2 5-color Digital Printer" introduced at the fairground was the brand new product of their company and firstly launched to the market. He claimed that they had spent 8 years in developing "QPress B2 5-color Digital Printer" and launched it to the market despite the current economic situation because they foresaw the leading trend of digital printing in the future. Many enquiries on the product were received at the fairground. Mr. Song indicated that they would plan to produce 50 sets of "QPress B2 5-color Digital Printer" annually and would increase to 200 sets next year. They were confident to their patented technologies as well as the market and therefore they would continue to pay effort to invest in the new technology and human resources. He hinted that the traditional and high-wastage products would be faded out from the market and replaced by those leading-edged and environmental-friendly products.
Mr. Pang Fei, Marketing Manager of Dasesing Packaging, expressed that many buyers from small to medium enterprises visited the shows in order to grasp business opportunities under the economic hardship. Moreover, Mr. Wang Shi Yan, Deputy Director of the Shenzhen branch office of Lintec said that his company sold 3 sets of label printing machineries during the fair and signified that the shows as the most effective business platform for them. Mr. Wang further expressed that his company had been able to maintain good market share and base in South China since the selling of their first set machine to South China in 2000. This is why they showed high recognition to Printing South China/ Sino-Label which brought exhibitors with direct economic returns.

These events together with the 'Spring Dinner' received extensive support and provided effective information and technological exchange platforms and networking opportunities for the industry professionals.
Led by General Administration of Press and Publication of the PRC, Administration of Press and Publication of Guangdong Province and Guangdong Provincial Publishing Group, Hong Kong Printers Association, and market specialists, such as Heidelberg, C&C Joint Printing, etc., the 'Print Replication Industry Development under the Industrial Structure Adjustment Summit' was well attended by the top printing corporations from Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macau. They shared views on the sustainable development of the printing industry in the three regions, the cross-region cooperation in face of the economic recession, and the strategy to industrial structure adjustment, etc.
